Coming Home

Since I work weekends I'm up & shooting at a lot of odd hours. This week I was up before dawn shooting a historic house returning to its original location after 60 years in a town 12 miles away.

The trickiest part about this shoot was keeping ahead of the movers, as it turns out once they're on the road they go at a pretty reasonable clip (about 20 mph). As you can see though, the two pieces take up the entire road, so if you let it get past you, there's no way to get back in front.

I'd park on the side of the road with my keys in the ignition and sit on the trunk while waiting for the house to catch up, then jump out to another location and start over again. It made for a pretty long shoot.

Glad to be a Ladd

Welcome to me photography blog. I've been working as a photojournalist in Oregon for the better part of a decade now, so I thought it was about time for me to actually show off some of my work in a more personal format.

Since this is my first photo blog I'll be playing around with the format in the following days to come up with something that'll be easy for me & hopefully fun to peruse. To that end, I've posted a handful of my photos from Oregon State sporting events from the last few years so I can see how well they look on the blog.

Hope you enjoy, and please feel free to give advice on layouts and blogspot templates that work well for photography portfolios.
